"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

Thursday at Trinity

Thursday was a lot of finishing work.  We worked on finishing the fence gate, door handles, trim work and double door ball stops.

The main excitement for the day was seeing the guy try to take away the trash container.

After the front wheels started to come off the ground the fellow gave up.

The other excitement for the day was when two fellows from Trinity episcopal church came by in their lunch truck handing out free back lunches from their church.

Trinity walk through video

Wednesday Morning Drive through the Ninth Ward

Wasting time waiting for the church to get unlocked, we drove over a couple blocks to look at some of the houses Brad Pitt help raise money for right by where the levy broke.

Wednesday - Installing a Fence

Our day long project on Wednesday was installing a fence in front of the church.

The group from Iona has been doing a great job.  They have been working hard on a brick walkway into the church.

Feeding the 300+

We prepared out traditional Brat supper for the camp Tuesday night.  Oddly, no groups ate off site.  This is always a highlight for us and from the response we received, I'd have to say everyone enjoyed a taste of WI.

Tuesday at Trinity

On Tuesday our main project was covering frame that hides the HVAC duct work in the sanctuary.  Other groups stained the wood to make it blend in with the ceiling.  Here is the frame before:

Here are some in process pictures:

Check back Thursday or Friday for pictures of the completed project.

Monday at Trinity with Iona U.

Monday we put in the new window ledgers, completed the door, did some tile work and completed some other small projects.  The group of 30 students from Iona U. worked on taping and painting.

Sunday at Trininty

Sunday afternoon we decided to get an early start on the week and put in a couple hours at Trinity.  After grabbing some Popeye's for lunch our main project was the finishing an upstairs security door, and we started some work on the outdoor window ledge.

Heading to New Orleans

We set out from SOTH at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 11th and arrived at Camp Restore at 4:30 AM on Sunday.

Heading Back to New Orleans

Once again a group of adults will be traveling to New Orleans for a week of service from March 10-17.  This year seven men, who from this point on will be referred to as the "Magnificent Seven", will be heading to the Big Easy to help finish the restoration of Trinity Claiborne Church.  This church was under 12 feet of water during hurricane Katrina and will be re-opening this Easter!  We will be working through Camp Restore.  Feel free to check out the links to Camp Restore and Restore Trinity Claiborne on the right.
